Holocron
A companion web platform for a tabletop campaign, and a custom character sheet living inside Foundry VTT.
A long running Star Wars campaign was drowning in PDFs and spreadsheets. Players could not see their progression, the game master rebuilt the same data by hand every session, and the virtual tabletop showed a generic sheet nobody wanted to read.
What was built
- A web application with character sheets, progression trees per class, species traits and equipment, backed by PostgreSQL.
- A custom Foundry VTT module with a seven tab sheet, ported from a design mockup, replacing the default one inside the virtual tabletop.
- Server side PDF export, so a player can print a sheet that looks like the one on screen.
- A Discord bot for announcements and polls, wired to the same database.
- Portrait upload, campaign membership and a small admin surface for the game master.
Result
- In production for a year, used every session by the whole table.
- Sixteen classes converted to full progression trees, and racial traits covering 142 species.
- The tree page was lagging on load, fixed by lazy loading the heavy component and dropping a permanent animation.
